Winterim is an exciting two-day period of specialised activities that fall between Term One and Term Two. During the holidays, students go online and choose their top three Winterim activities. This year, for Junior School, some of the activities included story writing, musical prop making, and stop motion animation. In this blog post we will tell you about our amazing experiences rock climbing and horseback riding.

In the horseback Winterim activity we traveled to Wynbrook Farms. On the first day we met our ponies. In the morning we groomed our horses and then had a 12631500_10153593774973096_4372059712177572212_nhorseback-riding lesson. Then in the afternoon we had relay races on horses followed by a campfire with hot chocolate. The second day we had another riding lesson and after we learned how to clean saddles. On that afternoon we participated in “An Amazing Race: Wynbrook Edition.” After we found all the clues there was a small gift bag. It was a great Winterim activity.

Another amazing Winterim programme was rock climbing. On the first day, we were super excited when we arrived at Altitude Gym. We spent the first half of the day learning to belay our classmates as they climbed the first wall. After lunch, we were able to climb some of the more complicated walls. The next day, we did an exciting challenge in our groups. We also had an amazing time trying out the clip-and-climb area. We all had an amazing time and it was so much fun!
