Approach the Bench

On May 18, 2016, the Grade Five class went to the Supreme Court of Canada. It was an amazing experience for everyone. We got to learn about the history of the Supreme Court of Canada, which included learning about the judicial system, how many judges hear a case, and who did what (crown attorney, defense attorney) in a case.    We even got to participate in a mock trial. Celebration of Learning 2016 was amazing! At Elmwood, the Celebration of Learning is a day when all students share their year’s work with the community. For students in Grade 5 and 10, this means something extra special: Exhibition and the Personal Project. The Grade 5s had a blast completing their Exhibition projects. Me to We: From Ecuador to Elmwood

The Ecuador trip was an amazing experience. I was one of twelve Grade 6, 7 and 9 students who was fortunate enough to participate on this trip. We left Ottawa in February and went on a ten-day incredible journey. We spent two days traveling, two days in Quito (the capital of Ecuador) and six days in the Amazon rainforest.
